The gridlock fest that is Gehlke Bros. Football will continue for at least one more week. That is because for the fourth straight week Glenn and Sean dueled to a tie on an even number of splits, meaning that the Senior Bro continues to cling to a one-game lead he has nursed nervously since Week 3.

Such has been the way of things in a season that is nearly halfway gone, and through Week 7 has clearly been dominated by road teams. So it is maybe a bit surprising that this round of fit-to-be-tied went to the home boys. Actually, make that the Cowboys, who thoroughly embarrassed their division rivals the Eagles in a 37-10 clinic at AT&T Stadium on Sunday night to earn the Junior Bro his share of the splits.

That win was huge, after Glenn took the opening split on Sunday morning when the Colts won a shootout over their top division challenger Houston, 30-23. Those games represented two of the five hosts who won this week — the others being Buffalo, Green Bay and Tennessee. That’s five in 14 games, meaning visiting teams have now claimed 59 of the 106 games played so far in the 2019 season.

Glenn and Sean tied with a 10-4 record this week, but that only gets them second place to Ben’s 12-2 mark. King Chaos reigned supreme as he snipped a couple more games off his dad’s lead in the overall standings — his best midseason showing in several years. In this bye week we all managed to predict wins by Kansas City, L.A. Rams, Jacksonville, Buffalo, Green Bay, San Francisco, New Orleans and New England. The only team that fooled us all was Arizona, which in the process made fools of the 2-5 Giants.
