Drew Brees passed his way to the career touchdown record, the Raiders played (and lost) their final home game in Oakland, and the Patriots shook off their “videogate” cheating scandal to beat the lowly Bengals. Just another ho-hum week in the NawFuL… and oh yeah, the Junior Bro just extended his lead in the race for the Surfy Trophy by 100 percent.

It was yet another week that defied logic, as so many weeks this season have, and it found the Bros in near complete agreement except on one very pivotal game: the Vikings-Chargers showdown in sunny California. The Chargers, coming off a big win last week at Jacksonville that nonetheless saw them eliminated from the playoff picture, figured to have nothing to lose hosting Minnesota, which is in the thick of the race for the NFC North crown. Glenn saw opportunity for the home team in the role of spoiler. But after Minnesota’s 39-10 domination of L.A., the Senior Bro’s hopes for a repeat championship may have just been spoiled.

Sean can say “thank you very much” for the 2-game lead amid a lackluster week for our professional amateur prognosticating crew. At a point in the season where playoff contenders usually prove their mettle, at least three of them (Tennessee, San Francisco and Pittsburgh) lost on their home turf, while the defending NFC champion Rams likely saw their postseason hopes evaporate with a devastating loss at Dallas. In all, nine road teams won in Week 15, continuing the bizarre trend of visitors outperforming the average this year.

All of this added up to Sean going 9-7 while Glenn clocked in at a disappointing 8-8. But it was Ben emerging as the big winner, charging to a 12-4 weekly record that saw him chop three games off his deficit in the overall standings. If not for last week’s stumble, he might actually be in the title picture with just 32 games left to pick this season. We all correctly predicted Baltimore, Green Bay, Kansas City, New England, Philadelphia, Seattle, Tampa Bay and New Orleans. Houston, Atlanta, Dallas and Buffalo all surprised us this week.
