For a while on Sunday, it appeared that Week 4 might turn into a Senior Bro sweep. With four splits up for grabs and a couple of early wins, Glenn was on the verge of turning what so far has been a tight contest into a serious advantage as the first quarter of the season concludes. But if Jacksonville's and Chicago's ice-breaker wins or Buffalo's blanking of New England should remind us, anything is possible on any given Sunday.

Glenn picked up what turned out to be his only two wins in the morning games, as the visiting Seahawks downed the Jets, 27-17, and Atlanta, behind a 300-yard receiving clinic by Julio Jones, defeated its divisional arch rivals and defending NFC champion Carolina, 48-33. Then came the afternoon.

San Francisco appeared to be cruising after grabbing a 14-point lead on Dallas early in the second quarter, but the 49ers could muster just three more points the remainder of the game, and the Cowboys took a 24-17 win to help the Junior Bro. Still, Glenn seemed likely to salvage a winning week when San Diego went up by 13 points late in the fourth quarter on visiting and winless New Orleans. That was before the Chargers self-destructed, committing two critical turnovers deep in their own territory that led to Drew Brees tossing a pair of Saints touchdowns, and Phillip Rivers was intercepted as the Chargers tried to move into field goal range. End result: a wash for the Bros.

Ben was not equally derailed by his predictions, gaining a game in the overall standings and winning the first bye week with a 9-6 record. Glenn and Sean tied for second at 8-7. We all correctly picked Houston, Washington, Denver and Pittsburgh. We all got tripped up by failing to guess the wins of Jacksonville, Buffalo, Oakland and Los Angeles.
