The Saints go marching... into the record books
It seems to be an unwritten rule in NawFuLdom that at least one of the bye weeks will run contrary to logic and reason, and that is exactly what we got in Week 7. How else could one explain the Jags upsetting the mighty Ravens, Denver overcoming a 15-point deficit in the final two minutes of its game at Miami, or the thrashing the Saints dished out on the hapless Colts to the tune of 62-7?
Unfortunately for the Gehlke Bros., no one seemed to catch that wave in the prediction department. Only Sean managed to outsmart the football gods and gained ground in the season standings. He did it by cashing in on the snooze fest that was Cleveland's 6-3 home victory over Seattle. And he got some help from overseas, when the Bears downed the Bucs 24-18 at Wembley Stadium in London. He now leads the chase for the Surfy Trophy by three games, the largest lead anyone has had this season, and the fifth time this year that someone has picked up two or more games.
Sean won the week at 8-5, while Glenn and Ben tied for second with 6-7 records. We were all in agreement in selecting winners Carolina, Pittsburgh, Dallas, New Orleans and Green Bay. No one picked winners Atlanta, Houston, N.Y. Jets, Kansas City or Jacksonville.
