How to cure what ails you
Halfway into the 2009 season, Glenn may finally have touched on a way to "get healthy" where his football picks are concerned: get admitted to the hospital.
The Senior Bro, suffering from a bout with pneumonia, found himself in the emergency room on Halloween afternoon. We thought that might put a crimp in conducting our weekly Sunday morning picks, but Ben ably stepped in and handled the weekly phone call with his Uncle Sean, then broadcast it on our NawFuL Twitter site. If there were any thoughts that Glenn's picks might suffer under the drug-induced delirium of an IV drip, those thoughts were apparently unfounded, as he swept the three splits with the Junior Bro. Minnesota beat Green Bay for the second time this year as Brett Farve won an emotional homecoming; Tennessee finally got off the mat and won a game against visiting Jacksonville; and Philadelphia claimed victory over the visiting division rival Giants. The result was a three-game boost, and Glenn's first lead of the season. Glenn won the bye-shortened week with a 10-3 record, Sean finished second at 7-6, and Ben struggled to a 5-8 mark. We all correctly picked Indianapolis and San Diego to win, but we failed to pencil St. Louis and Carolina into the victory column. |
