Birthday gifts

Six weeks into the season and the Junior Bro keeps finding ways to rock on, as Senior Bro and the Chaos Kid each spotted him another game to close out his 34th birthday weekend. Sean may not have been finding his fortune on the one-armed bandits in Stateline, Nevada's, gambling parlors, but he won where it counted, extending his lead in the Gehlke Bros. Football season standings.

It was a bye-shortened week of upsets that the Chiefs won their first game of the year at Washington and the Raiders put together a rare solid game to drop the visiting Eagles. Buffalo missed a game-winning field goal in regulation, only to get another shot after the Jets did the same in overtime and the Bills won. And it will be a long time before anyone forgets Tom Brady's record-setting five touchdowns in a single quarter as the Patriots blasted the winless Titans 59-0 on a snowy day in New England.

Glenn and Sean had three splits in Week 6, with Sean taking the first two decisively. The Giants lost their first game of the year in New Orleans, 48-27, as the Saints remained perfect. Then it was the Cardinals taking it to the Seahawks in Seattle, 27-3. It was only Denver's 34-23 Monday night win in San Diego that prevented Sean from taking the sweep.

Ben fared little better against his uncle, losing with the Giants and Bears before getting some redemption from Denver.

At 9-5, Sean won the week and expanded his lead to two games over Ben and three games over the Senior Bro, who both finished the week 8-6. Green Bay, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Carolina, Jacksonville and New England were unanimously selected as winners, while Houston, Kansas City, Oakland and the New York Jets evaded our collective progrosticating genius.
