The big 4-0
Brett Favre celebrates his 40th birthday this week, so in honor of his big four-oh he gave himself an early birthday present by knocking off his former team at the Metrodome on Monday night and sending the Vikings to... 4-0. Oh! what a wonderful Week 4 it was!
It marked the beginning of bye weeks, in which four teams had nothing to do but sit in front of their flat screens watching a few of their NawFuL opponents try to make it to 4-0. And in addition to the Vikings, four other teams succeeded, including the Colts, Giants, Broncos and Saints. Oh my! And oh, there were five others who acheived the dubious distinction of going 0-4, including Cleveland, Kansas City, Tampa Bay, St. Louis and Tennessee. Oh no! Meanwhile, the Brothers Gehlke continued their winning ways and prognosticated their way to what nearly amounted to a draw. Glenn and Sean got wins from Miami and New England, respectively, to remain three games apart in the season standings, while Ben recaptured one of the four games he lost a week ago by being the only one to correctly predict 4-0 Denver's win over visiting Dallas. With a mere 14 games on the schedule, Ben won the week at 12-2 and moved into a tie for second place, while Glenn and Sean tied at 11-3. We easily predicted the wins of Chicago, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, N.Y. Giants, Washington, Houston, San Francisco, Pittsburgh and Minnesota. We were all shocked and amazed by Tennessee's loss. |
