Nawful teams take a break, Sean keeps his lead
Fresh off their respective vacations, the Gehlke Bros are well rested and good to go for the remainder of the 2007 NawFuL season. But it's tough to work magic as a professional amateur football prognosticator when the league schedules a mere 13 games! Six teams off in a bye week? What's with that?
We'll tell you what's up with that: a draw. A big, fat, useless draw. Which means that Sean hangs on to his scant 1-game advantage in the season standings. The Junior and Senior Bros managed a mere two splits, and each got the benefit of a win. Kansas City put Glenn in the victory column with a home triumph over Cincinnati. But it was Carolina defeating Arizona down in the desert that allowed Sean to retain his advantage. As for the rest of the weekend -- who cares? OK, so we do care, just not quite as much as we would have had there been big points riding on the games. Ben might not agree, as he struggled to a 6-7 finish. Glenn and Sean meanwhile shared the honors for best record in Week 6 with 9-4 marks. Collectively we agreed on picking winners Jacksonville, Baltimore and Green Bay. We all fell flat in picking Seattle, which helped New Orleans to its first win of the season. (Losers!) |
