Week 5 — Results

Season update — All tied up

It was a down-to-earth sort of week around NawFuLdom -- down, as in the Senior Bro's fragile lead, which came crashing back to earth at the inept hands of the Dallas Cowboys. What is it about Da Boyz that they can't hang on to a lead at home against the Giants? At any rate, the 21-17 New York victory enabled Sean to knot things up for the first time since Week 1.

Of course, things could be worse for Big Bro. He could have the misfortune of the St. Louis Lambchops, who got ground into mutton stew yet again at the hands of the 49ers. The Niners made the defending NFC champs look baaaaad. The (undefeated) Raiders get their turn to complete the Bay Area sweep next Sunday in St. Louis. And how 'bout those Steelers! Chokers again in New Orleans. The road to Stupor Brawl XXXVII will take some interesting turns this season, but it may not be passing through St. Louis or Pittsburgh.

Sean may have tied things up, but he wasn't the big winner for the week. That honor goes to Ben, who picked against the grain and helped himself to an 11-3 record. Unofficially he is in the lead after five weeks. Kudos! Sean was 10-4, while Glenn was 9-5. Our unanimous correct predictions included Indianapolis, Miami, Oakland, Tampa Bay, Kansas City, Denver and Green Bay. We all got torched by picking Tennessee and Philadelphia.
