Somebody at NawFuL headquarters surely transposed the numbers when they were typing up the records at the end of Week 3. The Rams are not an 0-3 team. Well, they're not supposed to be 0-3, but someone forgot to tell Tampa Bay. John Gruden's pirates harassed Warner all Monday night and made the Rams look more like the Lambs of 10 years ago. Can the elevator sink much further into the basement?
Not for the Senior Bro, it seems. His elevator climbed another floor this week, thanks to Trample Bay's victory and Miami's emphatic win Sunday to end the Jets' domination of the Dolphins. Despite Chicago's collapse against (undefeated!) New Orleans, Glenn still managed to add a game to his slim season lead.
Ben won the week with a 12-2 record. Glenn was second at 11-3, while Sean notched a 10-4 mark. We all called the victories by Philadelphia, Indianapolis, New England, Denver, San Diego, Green Bay, the N.Y. Giants and (*gasp!*) San Francisco. Somehow we all managed to miss out on the wins by Cleveland and Carolina. Who would have thunk it -- the Panthers and the Saints tied for first in the NFC South with perfect records. Sure makes us Niners and Rams fans glad that those teams got the NawFuL boot from the NFC West they so deserved.
Are the Saints for real? Perhaps. But we won't jump on the bandwagon until January -- if they make it that far -- and even then it's gonna take some convincing. Of course, by January it may be the Rams fans with the bags over their heads saying, "Who dat?"
