Remember when you were a kid sitting in the backseat of your parents' car on the way to God only knew where one summer vacation, and it seemed as though the miles just crawled by, and the scenery all began to look the same, and you were fidgety? You started fighting with your kid brother or sister, and your mom yelled at you to sit still and keep your hands to yourself. You played license plate bingo... I Spy... sang a hundred bottles of beer on the wall... anything to pass the time. Then finally you couldn't stand it any longer and you uttered the most famous words of impatient travelers everywhere: "ARE WE THERE YET?!"
With two weeks left in the Gehlke Bros. Football season, it seems a fitting time for an "Are we there yet?!" Sean switched his prognosticating machine to high octane somewhere around Week 11 while Glenn's lost a couple of cylinders and has been misfiring badly down the home stretch. Five more splits in Week 15, with the Junior Bro taking four of them. Granted, Big Bro is rolling the dice more than he probably would if things were closer, picking losers like Cincinnati and Houston when the odds are against them, but still... it's tough to gain ground when you pick the home teams and they don't win for you. Only nine homies won this week, which proves again how NawFuL the NawFuL can be.
Sean's 12-4 performance was just what he needed to gain ground on Ben. Our youngest football fan still holds a 2-game advantage over his uncle on the season following a 10-6 weekend. Ben had the misfortune of following his dad's recommendation and picking the Patsies on Monday night. Naturally they lost to the Titans. Glenn finished the week at 9-7, a couple wins shy of the 11-5 prediction made at the end of last week. Ah well, maybe if you toss the Bungles and Texans... (Can we, please?)
We all correctly predicted the wins of Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, the New York Giants and St. Louis. We all tripped over our shoelaces in picking New Orleans, the New York Jets and Atlanta.
NawFuL PROGRAMMING ALERT: The schedule makers thought we needed not one but three Saturday games before Christmas, so we've decided to post all of Week 16's picks that day instead of Sunday.
