Quick! Someone call 9-1-1, and make sure you have plenty of water on hand. The Junior Bro is hot and his incendiary streak is getting out of control. For the fourth straight week Sean added insult to injury in the Gehlke Bros. season standings by sweeping all three splits up for grabs. Dare we say it wasn't much of a contest?
Tampa Bay trounced Atlanta 34-10, Kansas City dismantled the Kurt Warner-less Rams 49-10, and san Francisco squeaked by Dallas 31-27 to help Sean mount a 9-game lead over the Senior Bro with just three weeks left in the season.
But the real story that may be developing as the season trickles away is Ben's remarkable performance. He won the week with a dominant 13-3 record and in doing so widened the gap with his uncle Sean to 4 games. (We won't even mention that Ben leads his dad by 13.) Sean was second with an 11-5 mark, while Glenn limped home a dismal 8-8.
We were all united in victory behind New England, Tennessee, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Green Bay and Miami. We all felt the sting of defeat (some of us more than others!) at the hands of the mighty Steelers, who became only the second team to lose to expansion Houston at home. These guys are division leaders? "We just couldn't overcome ourselves," said Steelers coach Bill Cowher. That sounds like a winning strategy for the postseason if ever there was one.
NEXT WEEK: Glenn vows to go at least 11-5. (That's 11 up and 5 down, not 5 up and 11 down...)
