Week 8 — Results

Season update: Sean leads by 3

Monday Night Football! The game of the week... the best teams... great rivalries... memorable plays... Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Well, here at Gehlke Bros. central we say, "Monday shmunday." You can count on one finger the number of exciting matchups we've seen so far this year, and the NawFuL dished up another turkey this week with the Steelers' 34-7 laugher over the Titans (remember them?). No, the games we really care about can only be shown on Thursdays. Those are the nail-biters on which the Bros. thrive -- tasty little matchups like Indy and Kansas City where both opponents are equally mediocre and thus make for questionable, split-producing predicitions.

Sean feasted on the pathetic Chiefs in the week's only split game, which helped the Junior Bro pad his season lead to three games. For the first time this season we had no Sunday splits, making for a rather uneventful day. Lots of time to watch the World Series, NASCAR and the Gravity Games. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Meanwhile, Ben continues to be the big story as he turned in a 10-4 record, giving him the best mark for a record fourth straight week. His unofficial lead over his uncle Sean is now three games, and six over his dad, Glenn. Sean compiled a 9-5 mark while Glenn was 8-6. We all correctly called wins by the Jets, Ravens, Bucs, Dolphins, Raiders and Steelers, but we all failed to guess the wins of the Saints over the previously unbeaten Rams and the Bears over our hometown Niners.

Next week: a break from Thursday madness as we return to the Sunday-Monday drill.
