Week 3 — Results

Season update: Sean leads by 2

If there was anything positive to rise from the ashes of America's darkest day, it was the realization by the NawFuL's men in black and white of the futility of their salary demands and their return to referee the gridiron action in Week 3. The Senior Bro could have used some help from the zebras as he fell another game behing Sean in the Gehlke Bros. season standings. Carolina certainly didn't help the future of their bubble-sitting coach George Seifert with Sunday's loss at Atlanta, which gave the Junior Bro the week's only split.

The two teams representing New York did their fractured city proud and furthered the healing of the American public while adding to the mounting pain of the Chiefs and the Patriots who are both off to goose-egg starts in 2001. When is draft day in New England? And it looks like it will take more than a hit on the Pentagon to rally the woeful Redskins, who have compiled a pitiful 3 points in consecutive losses, the latest a 37-0 drubbing before a national TV audience on Monday night in Green Bay. And does anybody still "Remember the Titans" of 1999? Susper Bowl XXXIII seems so like many I's ago. As usual, it is going to be an interesting season.

In a week when most of the picks seemed to favor road teams, Sean's 10-4 mark led the way, while Glenn finished at 9-5 and Ben stumbled to a 6-8 record. We all correctly guessed the wins of the Giants, Chargers, Jets, Eagles and Broncos, but we were tripped up with the unexpected victories by the Browns, Jags and Bengals. It must be the AFC Central curse! As we said, an interesting season.
