We all knew it was inevitable. Just like death, taxes and riots in Cleveland, we knew that the Detroit Lyin's would eventually win a game. We didn't know if it would happen this season, but we knew it would happen. And it did, on Sunday. You'd think the poor boys in blue had just won the Stupor Bowl by the way they celebrated on the field. Don't worry, Lyin's, you're still in the hunt for the top pick in the spring draft.
The Senior Bro might be in the running for a few draft picks right now after dropping yet another game to Sean this week. Thanks to the antics of the Cardinals on Saturday, choking away a lead at home against the Giants, Glenn failed to realize the benefits of a pair of split victories on Sunday. He reportedly is ready to join those protesting fans in Cleveland's Dawg Pound. Better keep the plastic Budweiser bottles out of reach for a few more weeks!
Well, it was a decent week overall. Sean won it with an 11-4 mark, while Glenn and Ben tied at 10-5. Ben is perhaps the most disappointed with the outcome, seeing as how he talked all week about Detroit possibly getting its first win and then failed to pick them on Sunday. Actually, he had them picked for about five seconds, then switched to Minnesota at the last moment. Don't feel too bad, Ben; just think of all those poor folks who actually put money on the Lyin's to win the Stupor Bowl this year. Faithful or fools? You be the judge.
We all called the wins of Oakland, Indy, the Jets, New England, San Francisco, Seattle and St. Louis. In addition to missing Detroit's win, we also missed Tennessee toppling Green Bay.
NawFuL UPDATE: How weird is this season? Not only have we added a week to the schedule because of the postponed Week 2, but we don't have Monday Night games for the next two weeks because of Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The football gods have compensated, however, by gifting us with three Saturday games this week. We'll have picks then.
