Was it the law of averages? Or was it something more -- like mediocrity -- that prevented the Senior Bro from recording a big week in the Gehlke Bros. Football competition?
After the Patsies and Titans scored wins on Sunday it looked as though Glenn might erase a huge chunk of his 6-game deficit to Sean. That was coming into Monday night, where the Jags hadn't lost a game since the team's inception. And for a while, with the Jags up 13-0, it looked as though the Big Week might happen. But then Brett Favre started working his magic and the Packers exposed the Jags' fraudulent defense for what it is, picking up a 28-21 win in the process.
Despite the Monday night disappointment, Glenn still racked up an impressive 12-3 record to lead all players. Sean went 11-4, while Ben had a little difficulty picking the winners at 7-8. We all correctly picked the victories by Chicago, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, and San Francisco (9-2, yeah!). But we were stymied by Dallas' win over the 'Skins and Oakland's overtime loss at home to Arizona. (Actually, Oakland looked pretty stymied as well. What a pathetic defeat!)
