That little squeaking sound you hear coming from Sean's house these days is not the stirring of Christmas mice; it is the sound of the old polish rag shining up the Gehlke Bros. Football Picks trophy for its inevitable journey eastward. The Bros. produced a near-record eight splits in Week 16, which had they all gone Sean's way could have pulled him to within three games of Glenn's lead. But by the end of Monday night's stirring victory by the Dolphins over the "reeling" Broncos, Glenn had added six more smileys to the win column and was on high alert for a possible Gatorade shower from his legions of supporters -- OK, so we exaggerate perhaps a little.
Glenn set the pace this week with a 10-5 mark, while Sean's gutty attempt to find some late-season upsets resulted in a 6-9 tally. Benji managed a 7-8 mark. We all picked victories by Dallas and Green Bay, but got burned on losses by San Francisco, Pittsburg and San Diego. The Monday night split was just the third this season, and all three have been won by the senior Bro.
NOTE: There are two Saturday games on the schedule in Week 17, the season finale. Those picks will be posted Saturday, Dec. 26, while the remaining picks will be posted as normal on Sunday.
