Let's see... now where did we put those nukes?... Ah, here they are! Week 11. Just when we were beginning to think the fires of futility would never burn again in the Gehlke Bros. football competition for 1998, Sean managed to pull off a spilts victory in Week 13, thus ending Glenn's nine consecutive weeks without losing ground. But with just three weeks remaining it will take a meltdown the size of Chernobyl for Glenn to surrender his double-digit lead.
After Philadelphia defeated the Rams on Thursday it looked as though Glenn might extend his advantage, but Sean reaped the benefits of victories by the Dolphins over the Raiders and the Oilers over the Ravens to gain a game.
For the week, Sean was an impressive 10-5, while Glenn and Benji went 9-6. We all called wins by Atlanta, Denver (13-0...), Washington, San Francisco and the New York Jets, but no one figured on losses by Pittsburg, Arizona and Green Bay.
Week 14 marks the end of Thursday games for the season (hooray!), but unfortunately we still have Saturday games in Weeks 16 and 17 (boooooo!). Week 15 provides one last "normal" weekend of straightforward Sunday-only football.
